Studying at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) and Health Services, with nearly eight decades of academic experience in medical education and supported by the expertise of highly distinguished professors, has consistently advanced the proud path of medical knowledge and strengthened its position in the international arena. The foundation of medical education in Shiraz dates back to 1946, when the Higher School of Medicine in Shiraz was established as an affiliate of Tehran University’s Faculty of Medicine.

According to the Shanghai Ranking (2023), Shiraz University of Medical Sciences was listed among the top 1,000 universities in the world. Furthermore, based on the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, SUMS achieved a position in the 801–1000 range globally.

In addition to its extensive educational and research resources, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences provides a wide range of welfare and recreational facilities for its students.
