Introduction
In 1999, with the development of the Qom Health and Medical Care Network—which had previously operated as one of the branches of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and was responsible for health and medical affairs in Qom—the institution was established as Qom University of Medical Sciences and Health Services. At the same time, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education granted preliminary approval for the creation of Nursing and Public Health Schools. In 1997, with the admission of students to the Bachelor’s program in Nursing, the university officially began its educational activities.
In its early years, Qom University of Medical Sciences admitted only male students. However, following the closure of Fatemiyeh University of Medical Sciences in Qom, which had accepted only female students, the university began admitting both male and female students simultaneously. Currently, Qom University of Medical Sciences offers specialized residency programs in the fields of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Cardiology.
Ranking
In the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Qom University of Medical Sciences achieved a position in the 401–500 range.

Welfare Facilities
Qom University of Medical Sciences is among the universities that provide student dormitories. Students coming from other cities to study at the university can stay in these dormitories.
